Petrochemical Industry
Petroleum is a complex, dense and bituminous mixture of hydrocarbons, formed by the sedimentation and transformation of organic matter, subjected to high pressures and temperatures in the subsoil over the years.
The industrial separation of crude oil by fractionated distillation at different boiling intervals, allows us to separate its different products, for use in different industrial applications. Prior to the process of determining the fractions at an industrial level, it is possible to carry out diagnostic studies in the laboratory, based on the simulated distillation of a crude oil by gas chromatography.
The chemical products obtained by oil distillation, in increasing order, are light hydrocarbons C2-C4 (methane - butane), gasoline, naphthas (aliphatic, cyclic hydrocarbons and small quantities of polynuclear compounds), paraffin gasoil, lubricants, fuel oil, ethylene, propene, butenes. On the other hand, from catalytic reforming, the so-called BTX fraction is obtained, (benzene, toluene and xylenes), as heavier elements we have tars, paraffins, heavy oils, lubricants and others.
Teknokroma offers a wide variety of ultra inert and low bleeding columns for each of the products of the different crude oil fractions, based on 100% low bleeding methylsilicone, indicated for use in the different ASTM methods for ultra fast analysis or for other specific needs. 100% methylsiloxane columns, bonded and cross-linked of 50, 100 and 150 m to carry out, among others, PNA, PONA, PIANO analyses, with the columns TRB-50.2PONA, TRB-PETROL and TRB-PETRO.150. For the analysis of sulphur compounds present in crude oil samples and derivatives, we have designed the TRB-SULFUR column
