Teknokroma QuEChERS Kits – Efficient Pesticide Residue Extraction and Clean-up

The name QuEChERS stands for Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe, a highly effective method for determining pesticide residues in fruits, vegetables, and other food products.

The QuEChERS method is a dispersive solid-phase extraction (dSPE) technique, involving two stages: an initial extraction phase, followed by a clean-up phase to purify the extract.

2️⃣Phase 2: Clean-up and Purification
✔ 2 ml and 15 ml centrifuge tubes are used in this stage.
✔ The extract from the previous phase is purified using dispersive solid-phase extraction (dSPE), removing residual water and matrix interferences that could affect the analysis.
✔ Various salts and sorbents are used depending on the recommended method:

MgSO₄ (removes residual water)
Primary/Secondary Amine (PSA) (removes organic acids and sugars)
C18 (removes lipids and non-polar interferences)
Graphitized Carbon Black (GCB) (removes pigments like chlorophyll and carotenoids)
✔ After purification, the sample is centrifuged, evaporated, and reconstituted in the appropriate solvent for subsequent analysis.
